The Mississippi Asset Building Coalition (MsABC), formerly the Mississippi Individual Development Account Program (MIDAP), was established in 2002 by a group of individuals who wanted to make asset building opportunities available to the State’s working-poor population.  Those initial organizers thought it beneficial to utilize Individual Development Accounts or IDAs as a form of wealth creation.  IDAs are matched savings accounts that allows eligible individuals, at the end of a specific time-frame, to purchase a home, open a small business, or receive a college education.  MsABC achieves this by providing information, data, materials, policy, and technical assistance to community-based non-profit organizations who are interested in implementing an IDA program in their area.  We hope that the information on this site is helpful to you as a visitor, our partners and the community at large as we continue to advance the concept of IDAs in the State of Mississippi.
